It is important to know whether or not a permit is required to legally build your structure.
Building Permits and Concrete Floors
Permit Requirements:
A building permit is mandatory for structures exceeding 10 m².
Approval can take 2 weeks to 6 months, depending on the permit type and local authorities.
Concrete Floor Guidelines:
Never pour a concrete floor without an approved permit. Inspections are required before the pour; photos of uninspected work will not be accepted.
The concrete floor must be at least 50 mm above adjacent surfaces like pathways or driveways. It's recommended to pour the floor before erecting the shed to avoid corrosion issues that could void your Bluescope warranty.
Concrete Pricing and Site Preparation:
Prices are based on clear access and level ground using Melbourne Metro supply costs.
Site preparation costs (e.g., bobcats, excavators) are not included unless specified.
Our team can assess your site and provide a fixed cost for preparation if needed.
